Hey Blassie. Saw your “date me manifesto” and wanted to introduce myself.

A few things about me. I’m legitimately 5'10". My smart watch says my fitness age is 42, which is great since I’m a few years older than that. My hair is grey, was once dark brown but transitioned very early. Ethnically I’m half black, half white. I wear glasses in the morning that make me look nerdy and academic, then switch to contacts in the afternoon. I’ve really leaned into wearing cardigans this year.

A brief story. 20 years ago, I was residing in suburban southern California and had a vivid daydream of living in a high-rise apartment in the city. A beautiful bronze-skinned girl stood at my window and looked outward with her back arched and her fingertips on the glass, her butt sticking out in a white thong.

10 years later, I was living in South Philly and the daydream came to life, just in an apartment on the 2nd floor instead of the 20th, and the beautiful girl was a half-latina with a thong that was bright pink instead of white. The universe always gives you what you ask for, but it’s different than you imagined.

When I reflect on my past relationships, whether they ended with quiet tears or my tires slashed, I always say to myself: I should have taken better care of her.

Your manifesto was written with a precise self-awareness that suggests you’ve thought about this more carefully than most people think about anything. I want a woman who can challenge me, and is comfortable transitioning from argument to affection, and maybe back again a few times.

You feel so familiar to me, as if we’ve had vivid, passionate debates in a past life. But there is also something foreign and unknown about you, as if you could put together combinations of words that I’ve never heard before.

I want to know your softer side, to stroke your hair, to worship the divine light that glows from your eyes, your smile, and your freshly painted toenails.

A few more details and logistics about me. I’m based outside of Philadelphia for now, but I’m in NYC a lot for work. The suburbs are fine for now, but I’m not attached. There’s a pool, which is great in the summer, but I’d like to return to the city.

I’m a software consultant in AI and distributed systems - I direct project teams and write technical content that’s developed a following. Currently working on a book and newsletter. I spent a decade in the SF Bay Area building products you probably use every day.

I’ll bite the bait – it would require the power of the ancients to remove my REDACTED from your REDACTED.

Looking forward to our first dinner together. Would love to fly you to NYC or Philly once the blizzards are behind us. Or, I’ll find a client in Chicago and take you to the restaurant and dive of your choice. Looking at you is like being punched in the face and immediately french kissed afterwards.
